Founded in 1991 with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfram Seibert, Professor of Vehicle Technology at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Saarland College of Technology and Commerce (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) des Saarlandes) acting as its Director of Science, the company has spent the past 14 years turning itself into a high-performance research and development partner to the automotive industry. And since 2001, FORGIS, an Associated Institute of the HTW, has also been a "gemeinnützige GmbH" (public utility company – non-profit).
